At Church of the Way we believe that what Jesus says is true. When Jesus spoke through the words of Paul in Acts 20 when he said “It is more blessed to give than to receive”, it was an invitation to a spiritual practice for us to experience a way of life leading to what Jesus called a “life to the full”. The practice of Radical Generosity as Jesus called His followers to live out in the scriptures was all about our spiritual formation, never about a financial transaction. Jesus shows us that through a lifestyle of generosity it gives our soul Freedom from anxiety and greed, Contentment with what God has given us here and now, and a true Joy that comes from knowing that Jesus is more than enough.
Throughout the library of scripture, we see generosity at the heart of God. Throughout the ministry and teachings of Jesus and within the letters of the New Testament there are three distinct areas that give direction to our giving:
- To Strengthen the Local Church.
- To Take Care of The Poor (those who have need.
- To Advance the Gospel Here, Near, and Far Away.
This is at the heart of Church of the Way — we desire to be a community of people to meet those with Great Need, with Great Love through Radical Generosity. We are humbled and honored to walk alongside you in practicing this Way of Jesus.
